Overview
Glasslet Software aims to collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains how the Glasslet website, LyricGlass, Duplet and Aimlet handle information.
Glasslet website
This website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages. Basic technical information may be processed by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser details, request time and requested pages. Glasslet Software does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or user accounts on this website.
LyricGlass desktop application and Edge extension
LyricGlass is a Windows desktop application for displaying synchronised lyrics and is available through the Microsoft Store or as a direct website download. Its optional Microsoft Edge extension, “LyricGlass for YouTube Music”, connects music playing at music.youtube.com to the desktop application. This section applies to both distribution versions of the application and to the extension.
Information used
When YouTube Music is open, the extension reads only information needed for the current track: title, artist, album, video identifier, playback state, playback position and duration. The extension has access only to pages at music.youtube.com. It does not read other websites, collect general browsing history, or collect YouTube or Microsoft account credentials.
The desktop application can also obtain currently-playing information from Plexamp or VLC when the user chooses and configures those players. This may include the track title, artist, album, playback state, position and duration.
How information is used and shared
The Edge extension sends current-track information only to the LyricGlass software installed on the same computer, using Edge native messaging and a loopback connection. It does not send that information to Glasslet Software.
When lyrics are not already cached, the desktop application sends a search containing the track title and artist to LRCLIB, a third-party community lyrics service. A track duration may also be used to choose the closest match. LRCLIB receives the request and the technical information normally accompanying an internet request, such as the user's IP address. Its handling of that information is governed by its own terms and policies.
LyricGlass does not require a Glasslet account and Glasslet Software does not use the app or extension to collect analytics, advertising identifiers, browsing history or account credentials. Glasslet Software does not sell personal information.
Local storage and credentials
The desktop application stores settings locally. Retrieved lyrics, track details, timing offsets and user-selected match corrections may be kept in a local database so they can be reused without another search. Users can clear the lyrics cache from LyricGlass settings or remove local application data by uninstalling the application and deleting any data retained by Windows.
If a user configures Plexamp or VLC, the required Plex token or VLC password is stored locally and encrypted for the current Windows user. These credentials are used only to communicate with the player selected by the user and can be removed by disconnecting or reconfiguring that player.
Local network display
If the user enables or uses LyricGlass's network lyrics page, currently displayed lyrics and limited current-track information can be made available from the user's computer to devices on the same local network. The user is responsible for the security of that network and for choosing whether to use this feature. LyricGlass does not upload this page to Glasslet Software.
Edge permissions
The extension requests access to music.youtube.com so it can read the currently playing track, and the nativeMessaging permission so it can pass that information to the locally installed LyricGlass application. These permissions are not used for advertising or tracking.
Duplet
Duplet accesses files only in the scan locations and categories selected by the user. It may read file names, paths, sizes, dates and contents to identify byte-for-byte duplicates, organise results and provide previews. Scanning, comparison and preview generation take place locally.
Duplet does not require an account and does not collect or transmit files, file information, scan results or deletion records. It contains no advertising, analytics or telemetry. Scan results remain in memory while the application runs. Logs are created only when the user chooses to save them and may contain file paths, matches, errors and removal records; they remain at the location selected by the user.
Files selected for removal are moved to the Windows Recycle Bin after confirmation and can ordinarily be restored until the Recycle Bin is emptied, subject to Windows settings and available storage.
Aimlet
Aimlet is a Windows aim-training game distributed exclusively through the Microsoft Store. It does not require an account, collect personal information, use analytics or telemetry, display advertising, transmit gameplay data, or share data with third parties.
Aimlet stores application settings, personal-best scores and a history of the 30 most recent completed training sessions locally in the application's Windows data area on the user's device. Session history may include the selected mode and settings, score, accuracy and completion time. This information is used only to provide Aimlet's settings, personal-best and session-history features.
Aimlet does not synchronise this locally stored data to an external server. It remains on the user's device unless the user removes it by resetting Aimlet through Windows Settings or by uninstalling the app.
Downloads
Application installers are hosted using Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare may process basic request information when files are downloaded.
Children's privacy
Glasslet applications and the LyricGlass extension are not designed to collect personal information from children, and Glasslet Software does not knowingly collect such information through them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when application features, information practices or legal requirements change. The current version and its revision date will remain available on this page.
